WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU NOTICE LUKEWARMNESS IN YOUR LIFE

Someone dropped this message in my inbox: “I am a Christian but some how I don’t really know what is wrong with me I am becoming lukewarm I need help please.  I really want to draw closer to God again please help me out”. As a matter of fact, I get this type of message almost every day and it only showed what majority of Christians are passing through.

In case you are also asking this question, there is hope because you are not alone facing this. And like I told the person, “I’m glad you wanted to draw closer to God and realized you present state in your journey with God”, because that actually is the first step towards your personal revival.

2 Chronicles 7:14; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land.

1 John 1:9; If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

How will they humble themselves and confess their sins if they don’t know the state they are in now and acknowledge their sins. This is the very first step to your restoration.

Please note, no matter the impartation or prayers prayed for and with you, if you are not determined on your own, it may not be effective.

So be intentional about drawing closer to God.

Things to do for starter

1. Daily consciousness about God: bring God into your day by thinking about Him. When you wake up in the morning; thinking on His goodness on your life and the privilege of waking up. When you want to sleep meditate on how He helped you today.
We intend to draw closer to who we think about.

2. Get to know Him more: how can you know God who you can’t see? He’s invisible and His work is mystery.
You can only know more of God when you learn more of Christ.
For Jesus is the full bodily expression of the Godhead and the image of the invisible God. In other words, if you want to know God, look at Jesus.
I almost advice you start thorough Bible study on the person of Christ. Starting with the four books of the Bible.
Start with Luke, then go back to Mark then book of John and then Matthew.
Make it a daily reading (2 to 3 chapters daily will do).
Now studying in that order will arouse your interest to know more about Jesus.
And the more you know about Jesus, the more you have understanding on who God is and how He operates.
Humans tend to find out more details about the person they love and the more we know about someone, the more we tend to love them.
Know Jesus, know God and you draw closer to Him.

3. Communicate with Him daily: how do you intend to draw close to God if you don’t communicate with Him? We all have friends we talk to on a daily basis. They are our go-to friend. God also want to be that kind of friend. Someone you can gist with and lean upon.
Even though He’s your God, He desires friendship with you.
Communication services friendship. The more you communicate with Him the more you are intimate with Him.
From now, see prayer as a means of talking with your friend and not just for asking.

4. Be committed to the 3 points above.
The power of drawing closer to God lies in your commitment to these things.
Not a week affair, or a month but daily as long as you live.
Be committed to talking to God, studying Christ and mediating on God.
