UNDERSTANDING THE LINK BETWEEN YOUR DESTINY AND SONSHIP IN GOD.

UNDERSTANDING THE LINK BETWEEN YOUR DESTINY AND SONSHIP IN GOD.

When you are saved and adopted into God’s family, you become a babe not yet a son in the kingdom. No one ever wants to remain being a fed-baby.

No parent will ever want their child to remain a baby no matter the love and how amazing the baby-experience maybe. Same to the kingdom of God, we are not permitted to be a baby forever. God want us to grow.

Jokingly tell a grown up boy/girl that you are a baby, you will be amazed with the response; Am not a baby am a big boy.

Galatians 4:1 – 2, Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

Sonship is about attaining maturity in Christ. When you refuse to grow as a Christian, you become a spiritual imbecile. Stop being a baby and grow up, until you become a son, you won’t have full access to kingdom’s blessings.

Sonship is a gradual process not instantaneous. It requires total commitment. After you become a member of God’s family, you must be committed to a daily growth into sonship.

You must be committed to depart from sin. What can cause a gap between you and your father is sin. Your Father detest sin, His eye cannot even behold it.

No wonder He admonish His children in Psalm 1:1 ‘Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful’. Why the admonition? A man is blessed to have God as a Father.

It is a blessing to be called the son/daughter of the Most High God. Therefore you must depart from whatever that will turn the blessing to curse. You must do everything within your power to retain this glorious relationship because the fulfilment of your destiny lies on it.

Every father will be happy knowing their son/daughter follows their instructions. To prove your sonship you must be determined to keep the commandment of your Father. 1 John2:3 ‘Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Being saved from sinful-nature is easy and simple because Christ has paid for it but retaining your victory is the key. You need to grow in Christ to retain your victory over flesh. When you grow in Christ you become a mature Christian (not by age but spiritual capacity).

Mature Christians are the real sons of God. The manifestation of your purpose will launch you to the world but your nature will retain it. You get to the top is easy but to retain your place at the top requires hard work.

Until you become a son, your manifestation will never be complete.

You can manifest today and lose it tomorrow because you don’t have the capacity to keep it. You need to grow; build your capacity.

Many Christian grows older but never grow up. Until you grow into a son, you can never manifest who you are to the fullness. Know your purpose (why you are here), know your true identity (who you are) then your manifestation is certain.

SONSHIP: A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY

1 Corinthians 13:11 ‘When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things’.

It’s easy to differentiate between a baby and a mature son through their level of understanding (which dictates the way they react to life). Paul knew that to be a man is different from being a child. He knew there must be a shift from being a child to being a man. Not just physical transformation but also mental transformation.

There must be a shift from the baby’s mentality to son’s mentality. A rebirth of the spirit-man which must be nurture to maturity is needed in becoming sons of God.

Sonship is certified by what you do, not by claiming-to-be. It’s about responsibility; your capacity to be responsible to yourself, God and others. Therefore, as you grow into a son visible changes must be seen.

Life is in stages. There is a stage when things will be done for you. All your needs will be provided by the people around you. You are not responsible to anything that matters. Then you will move to another stage where you do things by yourself for yourself. This stage you are responsible for something and that’s yourself. As time permit you begin to move to the next stage. A stage where you begin to do things for yourself and for others. This is another level of responsibility. You will be responsible to yourself and others.

Manifestation of the sons requires a shift-in-mentality. Being a contributor to life comes with being “responsible for life” not by chance. Your must have the mentality of the Sons of God not babies – BE RESPONSIBLE TO SOMETHING!

STILL A BABY?

Manifestation is for the sons and not the babies. It’s for those who are responsible for something. Those who want to make impact and are ready to pay the price that comes with it.

We mistook maturity to changes in physical size. Have you not seen a man of 30 plus and the way he behave shows otherwise. Maturity is not a physical change but a mental change. There is a big difference between the two stages.

Looking at some attributes from Jesus, you will see a clear different between being a son and a baby.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Babies are born, sons are gifts. You are a child by birth but you become a son by your choice to be valuable. Until you become a blessing to others, you cannot be classified as a gift. Make yourself valuable in the kingdom.

1 John 3:16 “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”

By nature babies are completely selfish and think only of themselves and their needs. Babies are after what their father can do for them but sons are after what they can do for their father. They know the will of the father and what the father does. What are you doing where God position you? You must be useful in God’s kingdom.

Luke 2:49 “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

Babies can’t do things by their selves, they are concern of the family but sons are not a worry to the family. Many blame their failure everyone except themselves; on the government and family. You must be useful to yourself. If you are not useful to yourself how can you be useful to the world.

John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

Babies’ attention is secured through gift but sons are always on ground without expecting any reward. There is a work you must do either there is reward or not. Fulfilling your destiny is a must. When you are really a son of God, you won’t be bothered about what you will gain before helping others. This nation is where she’s is because everyone was looking for what to gain from the wealth of the nation and not what the nation will gain from them.

Sonship is not about age but about your development in God through Christ. Your physical maturity is not same as your spiritual maturity. You must intentionally develop yourself to be like Christ. Manifestation of your destiny is a product of your level in Christ Jesus. Develop yourself.

Don’t Leave These Three Virtue Of A Child As You Grow

1Corinthians 1:27 “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”

Babies are known to be weak and unwise in action yet God specializes in using the foolish things to confound the wise because in foolishness lies wisdom and in weakness lies strength.

Psalms 8:2 “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”

If as weak as a baby is yet they are linked with strength, how much more when it comes to be a son. God used them mightily to deal with the enemies. Even as a child in the kingdom, you are empowered to deal with devil and his angels.

Being a baby is fundamental to sonship therefore it is unwise to discard the wisdom in the foolishness of a child. Mark 10:14-15, Jesus makes a shocking revelation – unless you receive the kingdom of God as a child, you won’t enter there.

TOTAL DEPENDENT

A child depends on his parent for all he/she needs. This total dependence produces trust. As a child of God, we must trust absolutely in God and God alone for our needs.  No matter how big your destiny may seem, depend on God.

The one who gives the vision will surely supply the provision to fulfill it. Total dependency on God is needed if you want to manifest your destiny to the fullest.

BELIEVE

Due to the trust in the father, a child believes the words and actions of the father to be right and for their own best. You must believe in God in all circumstances. The road of destiny may seem rough and impossible yet you must believe in God. If He says it’s your destiny to be great, no matter what’s happening He will do it. Believe in Him, the One that ordained your destiny has the capacity to bring it to pass. You must believe He’s able to do that which He says He will do.

TOTAL OBEDIENCE

A child will always obey the father even when it’s not convenient because they believe and trust him. You must obey and carry out all the instruction of God [written and spoken]. Fulfillment of your destiny hangs on the divine instructions you are able to obey and carry out. Your obedience to divine instructions set the pace of your life. Beloved if you still have problem to obey the written word, you can’t obey the spoken word.

Sonship is active not passive in nature. To act as a son, a shift-in-mentality is needed.  New identity brings new mentality. If you don’t grow up, people will make merchandise of you. Until you grow up, you won’t have direct access to kingdom’s blessings. Your growth in Christ determines your level of authority in Christ. Your manifestation becomes certain when you imbibe these virtues.
